Why the Creation of this Blog?

Since 2008, I have been an avid blogger.  I have shared my community service efforts, my passion of pageantry and the great (and not so great) times of my life via blogger with an electronic journal (as I like to call it) however never before have I blogged about my professional life. 

On February 22nd,  I decided it was time for me to purposefully affect change within my community.  On July 13th, I picked up petitions for declaration of candidacy for ANC 5D01.  On August 2nd, I returned these forms with the required signatures and yesterday received confirmation from the DC Board of Elections that I have met all requirements for preliminary inclusion on the November 6, 2012 ballot.  So its official I am running to become an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner. This is the first step on my journey to help shape the Nation's Capital and to provide the best living environment for District of Columbia residents especially those within Ivy City. I am extremely excited to embark on this new phase of my life and all that it holds.

This new blog will document my entry into Washington, DC politics (and of course my community service work).
